Mixing Work with Wedding

My desire to move into a marketing career means that I must start learning new skills and upgrading the ones I currently have. Guess what new skill I am leaning here? Why yes it is the exciting world of blogging. I keep sitting here looking at the screen wondering how to make this interesting enough to read while still keeping my life private. Unfortunately there is no way for that to happen. If you are going to use any social media tool you give up your rights to privacy. No matter how strick your privacy settings are, how limited you are with your information and how careful you are about what you wright you are giving up your privacy in exchange for global electronic human connection. Global electronic human connection now that is a mind bender but that is not the topic we are exploring today so I will get back on track.

I have to learn how to blog for work and wanted to talk about something that is exciting in my life right now. Right now the most exciting thing in my life is planning for my wedding. I am marring the man of my dreams Jay and want us to have a celebration that reflects the depth of our love, our beliefs and includes all those we love.

We were never able to separate work from our wedding. We met at work and the people that mean the most to us are those we work with. We are having Jay's boss and someone I consider to be like a father to me Barry performing our ceremony. A friend and coworker Jennifer is making all the jewelry for the wedding. Another coworker who is the Queen of Cakes Dana is making our cake. A good deal of the people attending our wedding are from work. So since our wedding and work have always mingled I started using my wedding as practice for the career I want.

Most recently I used Facebook to find out the flowers I am going to have. First I started a survey so people could vote on the flowers I just couldn't decide between. End result Calla Lilies. Then I scoured the internet searching for bouquet ideas. I narrowed down my choices to 15 bridal bouquets and 15 bridesmaid bouquets. The voting has worked so well that I decided to do it again. I posted all 30 photos in albums and asked all my friends to vote by "liking" their favorite photos. I narrowed it down to 3 for each category and had a final round of voting. It was so much fun I feel like I found a way to allow people to give their opinion (one thing you learn planning a wedding is EVERYONE has on opinion), have fun and get free help. It was great too because I was able to learning the type of things people like to be involved with on Facebook.

So the winning bouquets are...
